FOrM 01
# A self-fabricated open-source floor lamp exploring the future of home objects through a simple lighting system designed to speculate on what future of decor could be __

EXPERIENCE Rather than functioning as a fixed lighting object, FORM/01 encourages interaction with the user, through subtle adjustments — allowing users to adapt the atmosphere of a space through movement, angle, and light orientation.
SWIVEL MECHANISM
The lamp features a rotating base mechanism that allows the illuminated cylinder to pivot up to 45 degrees on either side from its perpendicular resting position.
By allowing the vertical form to tilt and reposition, the lamp shifts
creating differing silhouettes, shadows, and visual balance within the environment.

3D printing made the process of iterating fast and hands-on, allowing different forms, proportions, and mechanisms to be tested and refined quickly through physical prototypes. Instead of designing everything digitally and manufacturing only at the end, the project evolved through continuous printing, assembling, adjusting, and reprinting.

Developed through rapid prototyping and iterative 3D printing, the project focused on creating a form that feels approachable, customizable, and easy to assemble while maintaining a strong architectural presence. Rather than positioning fabrication as an industrial process, FORM/01 explores the idea of making as part of everyday domestic culture — where products exist not only as physical objects, but also as downloadable systems that can be produced, modified, and shared locally.
